Canon PowerShot A620 Digital CameraThe Canon PowerShot A620 is a great digital camera, especially if you are just starting out. Reasonably priced, it has a 7.1 mega-pixel sensor and a 4x optical zoom. The Canon PowerShot A620 offers user menus that are both very easy to set up and navigate.

The Canon PowerShot A620 offers a continuous shooting mode that allows you to take photos at about 1.9 frames per second. The camera also has a self-timer feature that allows you to chose the number of photos taken (up to ten) and the pause between shots (up to 30 seconds).

If you have been pricing digital cameras, you may notice that many have the LCD that flips out and rotates. The rotating, two inch LCD lets you take photos over things in front of you (as other people’s head) while still being able to see what you are filming. With 115,000 pixels, it offers good outdoor visibility and excellent visibility in low light. It is also great for ground shots. In addition, if you have ever wanted to take a photo of yourself, the LCD allows you to rotate it so you can see the picture you are taking of yourself. When not in use, the LCD closes neatly into the camera.

Canon PowerShot A620 Digital CameraThe Canon PowerShot A620 takes two AA batteries. While some may prefer the Lithium Ion batteries, the AA do have some advantages. For one, the AA batteries are far less expensive than the Lithium Ion batteries, which can cost a good deal of money. Another advantage is convenience. If your batteries are low, all you have to do is make a trip to the local convenience store to buy more. I recommend using the AA’s designed for digital cameras. They cost a little more, but last longer and don’t require you to carry around a stock of batteries.

There is only one disadvantage to the Canon PowerShot A620. That is the 32 MB secure digital card that comes with the camera. It you take pictures at the highest jpeg resolution, you will only be able to take nine shots before the card fills up. You should purchase an additional 256 MB card, allowing you to save up to 72 images. Of course, all digital cameras usually come with a small card just so you can test out the camera before buying a real card.

Overall, the features on the Canon PowerShot A620 should be very easy to use, with pleasing results.
